In 1983, the Lebel family farm passed from father to son. We became the proud owners of
agricultural land situated near Val Brilliant in the Matapedien Valley. Lovers of the earth, and
wanting to satisfy the public's demand at the time, the seed for creating a 'Pick Your Own'
raspberry farm was planted. The idea was to create a business geared to families, while at the same time teaching our daughters the precious values gathered from growing up on a working farm. And so, Vallée de la Framboise was born. The adventure started in 1994, our first acre of earth was transformed into a plantation of 1500 raspberry bushes. By 1997, our family opened the fields up to the public to 'Pick Your Own Raspberries'. That same year, a second plantation was set in the ground not only to meet the growing demand for our popular raspberries but also to diversify our crops by adding different varieties of berries such as: black currants, red currants, gooseberries and Northern Highbush blueberries.

A Decisive Moment
To expand our production even further, we started to think about transforming our delicious berries, that we cultivated ourselves, into homemade wines and liquers. Recruiting a wine consultant from Breton and completing a course of study from the Institute of Agroalimentaire of St. Hyacinthe gave us the foundation to start this new adventure. Since 2003, three deliciously flavoured nectars have been available in six elegant bottles evocatively named after the historic Matapedia Valley. Our three daughters, Véronique, Claudine and Judith, created the different paintings found on our labels: La Douce Anna, Le Joyau Bleu and Le Brochu.
In 2007, we once again diversified to add various berry jams and jellies to our fine line of homemade products. We would like to invite you to come for a visit and experience our history, production and of course our gourmet products first hand.
